A great collaboration should, in our opinion, tick a few boxes. It should feel like a natural fit, a sort of “ohhhh this makes so much sense” kind of thing, it should celebrate each contributor equally and it should have a great reason for being. We don’t do them too often, because ticking all those boxes isn’t easy! But when it works, it really works. And our new collab with Big Night really really works.

As far as the natural fit, we’ve been fans of Katherine Lewin for years. She and Joyce first met years ago in their other lives, at J.Crew and Madewell, respectively, and reconnected when Katherine reached out to ask Joyce to make her a tote bag. A friendship followed, and it was Joyce who first introduced Irene to Katherine’s shop, Big Night. Filled with everything you could possibly want to host the world’s coolest dinner party, it quickly became a must visit whenever the PT team is in NYC. Since Big Night is such a joyful, colorful place, we knew we wanted to create something that captured that spirit, while staying true to our Parker Thatch vibe of easy, effortless and functional as well.

The end result is the Everywhere Tote, AKA the summer bag we’ve always wanted. Generously sized to hold everything from farmer’s market hauls to beach-day supplies, the bag is sturdy mesh with vegan leather trim, and is finished with a bag charm featuring the PT crest and a little fish that nods to Katherine’s love of tinned fish. The totes come in tomato red Spritz, classic navy Sardine, and playful yellow Sungold. We really can’t decide which one is our favorite (good thing we don’t have to!).

To launch the new tote, we asked a few very cool friends of the brands—The Snail co-owner Cristy Alvarado, florist Molly Ford, and Fewer Finer jewelry founder Madison Podpirka—to take part in a photo shoot. Which, if we’re keeping score, is another box ticked :)
