Trois et Moi with Lauren Edelstein

Happy summer! It’s hot, and we’re back with another Trois et Moi. For each installment we’ll ask someone whose style we admire (that’s the moi part) to take one Parker Thatch bag and show us three different ways they wear it (that’s the trois part).

By day, Lauren Edelstein is a fashion stylist in NYC, but she also has easily one of the rarest side hustles out there: emoji artist. By meticulously layering thousands of emojis, she creates uber-detailed—and wildly colorful—portraits on her phone. Lauren has depicted Dolly Parton (with chili peppers for nails), Marilyn Monroe (with dolphins for eyeshadow) and, most recently, Jalen Brunson (with moons and ballet flats for his jersey). It’s just as fun, imaginative and yes, time consuming as it sounds (don’t even ask about her screen time).

Lauren’s style is as bold as her art, so we weren’t surprised that her favorite Parker Thatch bag is our Maurice Hobo in zebra. “I love this bag,” she told us. “The slouchy shape feels really cool and easy and I am always very into an animal print. I have a cow print couch (my cowch!) in my bedroom and it makes me happy every day. This bag is the same vibe. It just immediately puts you in a good mood and kind of tells the world you’re fun.”

LAUREN’S STYLE TIPS:

Clockwise from top left: AKNVAS blazer (similar here and here), Free People bandeau, Madewell mesh flats, Parker Thatch Maurice Hobo, Bailey Rose lace mini shorts

Keep it Comfy (and Chic)
“I’m basically trying to get away with elastic waistbands all summer, so these
shorts are right up my alley! I really love the lace trim detail but wanted to style them in a way that felt a little less sweet. Throwing on an oversized blazer and a bright ballet flat made the whole look feel really wearable, and then my bag gives it a little edge.”

Clockwise from top left: Parker Thatch Maurice Hobo, Lioness La Quinta pants, Lioness La Quinta blazer, B-Low the Belt Briella belt, St. Agni woven thong heels, Hanes boy’s undershirt

Don’t Take Anything Too Seriously
“A slouchy suit is great, but it can feel a little formal. I balance that by keeping everything else casual: a little ribbed tank, a statement belt and a thong sandal is just the right mix.”

Clockwise from top left: Jacquemus blazer, perfectwhitetee tank, Parker Thatch Maurice Hobo, Tibi active knit shorts, Miu Miu sunglasses, Staud Freja kitten heel

Find the Right Balance
“I’m really into the long track short look, but the right shoe is key here so the proportions stay flattering. A heeled thong sandal keeps everything feeling elongated, and an oversized blazer makes it office-friendly. Then I throw on a sporty pair of sunglasses that, when paired with my bag, makes it clear that we’re having a good time.”

Thanks for sharing Lauren! Can’t wait to see your next art show (which opens October 1st on the Lower East Side)!
