The history of Sangria dates back to 200 BC, when the Romans took a liking to the red wines produced in Spain. The love for sangria in the U.S. dates back to the 1964 World’s Fair in New York City. Novelist Jane Austen often had her main characters sipping on Sangria.
One 750-milliliter bottle fruity red wine, such as Merlot
4 ounces brandy
3 ounces Simple Syrup
1 cup mixed chunks of seeded oranges, lemons and lime
